March sees the Salmon arrive in the Deveron
The First Salmon of the season came off Lower Netherdale to G Alexander on Feb 27th. A fish of around 7lb it fell to a “skull head fly” off Lower Netherdale. March 1st saw Graeme land another fish of 15lb off the same beat.
Saturday March 4th at Lower Netherdale then produced a fish around 22 lb. to Mr. G Simpson.
The following week we had fish of 7lb to D Wiseman off Avochie on Monday, an 8lb fish to R Miller again off Avochie- his first Deveron Springer, an 8lb fish to R Breakell off Ardmiddle and another two-fish reported on the Wednesday and a 10-lb. fish off Scatterty on the Thursday to R Walker.
Conditions remain favourable with levels just under a foot and stable temperatures.
